What is the name and homepage of your art history blog?
What or who fired your passion for art history?
I'm an artist and love to promote others as well.
How long have you been blogging about art history?
Actually I started a blog just months ago, but I cover history in the making ... mostly people and events I've attended.
Does your blog have a particular art-historic focus?
Sacramento, CA is a huge art town, totally unknown to the outer world.
Have you run into any negatives while doing this?
Probably too new.
What about art history blogging fulfills you?
It allows me to promote something I love, and select my subjects. I think art is fascinating and want to make others aware of it too.
I have promoted artists for years but recently have reached into Social Media on LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and now Blog. This phenomenon which we are encountering is making history. I read recently that Twitter entered all it's tweets into the Library of Congress.
Willie Nelson was just quoted in The Parade as saying "I think most art comes out of poverty and hard times." If that is true, then the arts are going to explode. I want to be there when they do!
Advice
- As with Twitter, the best advice is to listen for a while and test the waters.
Shelley Esaak, Art History Guide, says:
I agree, KC: Sacramento has a vibrant arts scene that deserves wider recognition. Thanks for keeping us posted, and for your generous promotion of fellow artists. All of you make art history happen every day.
