Among the highlights of the collection are: the dramatically lit and expertly designed Treasury of precious liturgical and secular objects; the galleries that display the seven tapestries describing The Hunt of the Unicorn; Les Belles Heures de Jean, Duc de Berry, a late-medieval French book of hours; and Robert Campin's Merode Altarpiece (ca. 1425), an early Netherlandish triptych depicting the Annunciation and steeped in medieval symbolism.

Free with admission to The Cloisters is an upcoming event for the Christmas season. Asteria: A Rose of Such Virtue is a concert on Friday, December 30, 2005 at 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM.

The Cloisters is located in Fort Tryon Park, New York, NY 10040-1198 (Telephone: 212-923-3700; Website: www.metmuseum.org). It's open in the Winter (November through February) Tuesday through Sunday from 9:30 AM to 4:45 PM. Suggested admission is $15.00 for adults. Paid admission to The Cloisters is valid for free same-day admission to The Metropolitan Museum of Art and vice versa. Limited parking is available on the grounds of The Cloisters.
