Special Exhibition Gallery - Tezuka:The Marvel of Manga

Traveling November 3, 2006-September 9, 2007 to Three Venues

From Shelley Esaak, About.com

The first exhibition of its kind to travel outside of Japan, Tezuka:The Marvel of Manga was organized by the National Gallery of Victoria in association with Tezuka Productions. A comprehensive survey, the exhibition showcases more than 200 original artworks by Tezuka dating from the late 1940s to the late 1980s, including black-and-white ink drawings, color covers, posters, and designs. Taken on the whole, these works of art serve to illustrate Tezuka's pioneering work in manga, creation of anime as a genre and ongoing global influence on popular culture. They also demonstrate the "god of manga's" rightful position in the annals of art history.
