About the Show:

It only seems fitting that Grey Art Gallery, located within New York University's Washington Square Center, should boast an impressive collection of New York School works. After all, Greenwich Village was the preferred gathering place of many painters, sculptors and poets, way back when. Luckily, for those of us who missed those legendary gatherings, the Gallery has assembled a treasure trove of these artists' works from the 1950s and early 1960s, organized them thematically and sent them on the road. New York Cool: Painting and Sculpture from the NYU Art Collection features over 80 paintings, sculptures, drawings, and prints--all of which are worth any art lover's time.
