Alphonse Mucha

Traveling February 12, 2009-June 24, 2010 to Three Venues

From Shelley Esaak, About.com

Art Nouveau fans worldwide know, love and can't live without the works of Czech artist Alphonse Mucha (1860-1939). However, there was much more to Mucha's output than his fabulous Parisian theater posters and advertisements. Alfons Mucha offers a retrospective look at the artist's career through some 250 of his paintings, drawings, pastels, lithographs, book illustrations, tapestries and works of jewelry borrowed from both public and private collections.

Alfons Mucha was organized jointly by the three museums at which it will be on display: the Belvedere, Lower Gallery, Vienna (February 12-June 1, 2009); the Musée Fabre de Montpellier (June 20-September 20, 2009); and the Kunsthalle der Hypo-Kulturstiftung, Munich (October 9, 2009-January 24, 2010).
