The Guggenheim: The Making of a Museum consists of 50 key Modernist pieces culled from the collection of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York, on display in three sections: works from the 1880s through the 1920s, early Abstract Art, and perennial favorite Abstract Expressionism (courtesy of the New York School).
While the spectacular new Frank Gehry-designed, 450,000 square foot Guggenheim Abu Dhabi Museum on Saadiyat Island will not be completed until 2013, Gallery One of the Emirates Palace is hosting this "taste of things to come" in the first of many planned public programs leading to the opening. The Guggenheim: The Making of a Museum is on view from November 17, 2009 through February 4, 2010. Please enjoy this visual appetizer.
