The full title of this work is Snow Storm – Steam Boat off a Harbor’s Mouth Making Signals in Shallow Water, and Going by the Lead. The Author was in this Storm on the Night the Ariel Left Harwick.

About the show:

The first major (and largest ever) US Turner retrospective in 40 years, J. M. W. Turner contained over 140 works in oils and watercolor. The paintings provided an overview of both the artist's long career and his varied interests in history, mythology, seascapes and, of course, landscapes.
