About the show:

The first major (and largest ever) US Turner retrospective in 40 years, J. M. W. Turner contained over 140 works in oils and watercolor. The paintings provided an overview of both the artist's long career and his varied interests in history, mythology, seascapes and, of course, landscapes.

To read a full review of the exhibition as seen at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, please see J. M. W. Turner by art critic Beth Gersh-Nesic.
