More than 130 oil paintings and works on paper by the provocative artist Gustave Courbet (1819-1877), brought together from museums and private collections in Europe and the United States, on display at Galeries Nationales du Grand Palais, Paris (October 13, 2007-January 28, 2008), The Metropolitan Museum of Art (February 27-May 18, 2008) and Musée Fabre, Montpellier (June 14-September 28, 2008) in his first full retrospective in more than 30 years.
