Exhibition Image Gallery: From Russia - French and Russian Master Paintings

More than 120 outstanding works of Russian and French modern art, spanning the heady years between 1860 and 1925, are featured in this landmark exhibition. Assembled from the collections of four principle Russian museums in Moscow and St. Petersburg, paintings by names as stellar as Cézanne, Gauguin, Matisse, Chagall, Picasso, Renoir and van Gogh are displayed with those equally stellar names Malevich, Kandinsky, Mashkov, Serov, Repin and Tatlin. The objects on display amply illustrate the parallels and reciprocal influences between French and Russian artists of the day, as well as divergent artistic paths that developed in each country.

Curated by Sir Norman Rosenthal, Exhibitions Secretary, Royal Academy of Arts, From Russia: French and Russian Master Paintings... is scheduled for the Museum Kunst Palast, Düsseldorf from September 15, 2007 through January 6, 2008, and the Royal Academy, London, from January 26 through April 18, 2008.
