Movement, Style, School or Type of Art:

Expressive Realism

The "Realism" label is self-evident. Jeff's work is "Expressive" in that the scenes are laden with mood intended to evoke an emotional response from the viewer.

Date and Place of Birth:

February 21, 1958, Saugus, Massachusetts

Life:

Jeff has received many honors for his pastel scapes of city life, the sea and, most recently, historic battlefields from the U.S. War Between the States. Primarily self-taught, he has mastered his chosen medium and gained entry into several prestigious pastel societies (the Pastel Society of America, the Connecticut Pastel Society and the Pastel Painters Society of Cape Cod) and is a frequent entrant in top juried exhibitions. Amazingly, he also finds the time to teach his craft to others.

Important Works:

  • Low Tide at Marblehead 2
  • Acadia Overlook
  • Silent Guardian, 1st Ohio Light Artillery
  • The Ball is Open (McPherson Barn)
