His smooth, highly finished style kept him flush with commissions and in great demand as a portrait artist.

  • Joas Saved by Josabeth, 1822
  • Joan of Arc in Prison, 1824
  • The Death of Queen Elizabeth, 1828

November 4, 1856, Paris, France
