"Non-Configurative" (If you are more comfortable with the term "Abstract Expressionism", it would also be applicable.)
1942, Borsbeke, Belgium (as Joseph de Schrijver Arsène)
Scrivo's paintings are all self-portraits of his emotions on any given day. He paints what he feels, constrained only by the four sides of the canvas. By using non-configurative lines (they don't form or outline anything, they exist as themselves) and contrasting colors (often vibrant), his paintings seem suffused with depth. To this viewer, they look rhythmic, as painted music might look - uplifting, energetic and colorful music.

Actually, all of Scrivo's works are entitled "Life's different roads #(date of execution)". A sort of painted journal, if you will, and a delightfully visual one.
