The color black

Hello, it's a big block of the color black, and in such serene contrast to the busyness of the rest of this page.

Definition:

(noun) - Black here means a color singularly devoid of any light whatsoever. It gives up nothing to one's eye of any color except black. It reflects no other pigmentation. It is 180° opposite the color white, though both are non-spectral, achromatic colors. Black is, simply, black.

Interesting note: As Andrea Mulder-Slater, painter and creator of KinderArt once said, "You can't create black with pigments because of impurities. Generally there is a blue trace in most black pigments." In other words, you can't mix black from your palette (don't even try it; trust me, massive waste of paint) so buy a tube - even if it's not quite perfect.

Pronunciation: blak
