The Essential Tutankhamun Art Bibliography

Saturday June 16, 2007
Photograph provided by Jon Bodsworth; Web permission granted This new bibliography written by Stan Parchin focuses on the rapid art historic shifts surrounding the reigns of Pharaohs Akhenaten (r. 1353-1336 B.C.) and Tutankhamun (r. 1332-1322 B.C.). Stan thoughtfully put his list of recommended books and exhibition catalogues in chronological order. I say "thoughtfully," because it is extremely easy to lose track of which Pharaoh (or power near/behind the throne) was championing which major Egyptian deity and style of art for a thirty-year period, there. It certainly helps to have a list. Please enjoy the bibliography, and thank you for your research, Stan.
