Artists You Should Know: Grandma Moses

"Grandma Moses: Actual Grandma or clever marketing ploy?

    Thanks in advance,
    Dave"
Hey, Dave - "actual Grandma," big time, though you're right to think that the selling power of "Grandma" didn't hurt. The word is nearly as good as "Mom," "apple pie," and "the American way" for giving a person that warm, fuzzy, purchasing experience.

However, your question was about generations and babies and such. The facts are: Anna Mary Robertson Moses came from a family of 10 children, had 10 children (five of whom survived infancy), 11 grandchildren and ... I've lost track after 10 great-grandchildren and beyond. At 101, she may have begun losing track, too, but it's neat that she lived long enough to hang out with so many of them. Thanks for writing and asking such an interesting retailing question.
