This image is courtesy of the Art Gallery of Ontario and the Toronto Police Service. A collection of five 18th-century ivory sculptures by French artist David Le Marchand were taken from the AGO this past Saturday. The five represent the largest privately-held collection of Le Marchand's works, and are valued at $1.5 million CDN. The Gallery's insurer announced today that a reward of up to $150,000 CDN is being offered for information leading to recovery. Here is the full press release, including images of all five stolen pieces and Toronto Police Service contact information.
