Art History 101: Dada
Friday January 2, 2004
Here we have the artistic movement that was not a movement, founded by artists who were not artists creating art that was not art. (A person scratching his or her head, after reading that, would be justified and completely forgiven.) Dadaism honestly had an underlying, serious cause - even if its official party line makes little sense and Dada art is really a hoot to view. If you find Monty Python graphics (remember the stuffy, mustachioed guy with the flip-top head?) coming to mind when reading of Dada, you are not alone.
