Kenneth Noland passed away yesterday, January 5, 2010, at the age of 85. He will be sorely missed.

I read that one critic called Noland’s work “an immense bath of chromatic delights.” I thought that was well-said. The colors alone in this piece make it worthy of study.

Yes its a piece which raises questions and keeps one pondering, if for instance it is a plate of clay, or perhaps frijoles, on a purple table.

I even thougt of a vaginal ring… As you say, one could loose himself in this painting… But I just wonder if I would have the same reaction in front of it if it was done by a child of 5 for example…

English is not my mother tongue, what means “frijoles”??? I searched it in my dictionnary but did not find it.
