I knew it! I’ve seen this portrait at the British Museum. How frustrating (for me) that the exhibit about this artist is only coming to New York…

Very detailed portrait. Nice shading on his face. But the clothing from this time period is very interesting, especially the hat. Happy W-Wednesday!

What a nice portrait! The subject looks very soulful, doesn’t he?

I like the “thumb-smudge” shading on the forehead and beside the left eye.
