Perfect for Mother’s Day!
I think the details artists put into their work is amazing - like the rug. Everything flows toward the subjects, even the pink flowers and corner of the hanging picture on the wall draw one’s eyes to the figures.
Very interesting (to click through to the notes about the painting.) I thought of Whistler’s Mother right away, and this is a beautiful contrast.
What a touching painting. The child looks like he could slide down and start playing at any moment.
That’s a really nice painting, I like it. I could see the mother saying, “Hold still for a few more minutes, child. The painter is almost done.”
