Art History Deaths in 2005

Beginning with painter Paul Michaelis on January 1, and ending with comic and sequential artist Maurice Dodd on December 31, we lost quite a few notable figures in the visual arts and art history during 2005. In many cases, all that is listed is the person's name, nationality, discipline and date of death. I have learned that it is impossible to research and write a proper, summarizing paragraph for another human being's entire career - more than one dozen times - in under a week. Resolved for 2006: Keep a running list starting today, and treat obituary writers with great respect.
