Fur, the cinematic biography of ground-breaker Diane Arbus (1923-1971), the first American photographer whose works were exhibited at the Venice Biennale, is in post-production. Directed by Steven Shainberg and scheduled to debut in 2006, the movie stars Academy Award winner Nicole Kidman in the lead role, with a stellar cast that includes Robert Downey, Jr. and Jane Alexander. Fur traces Arbus' career, meteoric rise to photographic fame and tragic suicide. The film comes on the heels of Diane Arbus Revelations, an international touring exhibition of her photographs and ephemera, which continues to receive worldwide acclaim. Presently, the show is on view at London's Victoria & Albert Museum through January 15, 2006. After its British presentation, the exhibition travels to Barcelona and Minneapolis.
