Art Cannonballism
Sunday August 28, 2005
While perusing the art news this week, it was difficult to ascertain the craziest item. Was it that Tony Blair lent a bust of Winston Churchill to George W. Bush that wasn't his to lend? Was it that Mozart's wax head was stolen? Or could it, possibly, be that a new performance art piece involved shooting a human cannonball over an International border? Obviously, "C" gets my vote this week but, honestly, what ever happened to (1) following collections guidelines, (2) life before wax museums and (3) normal artists huffing turpentine and seeing normal hallucinations every now and then?
