Special Exhibition Review: Dalí
Friday May 13, 2005
Roving reviewer Stan Parchin recently spent a day at the Philadelphia Museum of Art specifically to take in its popular Dalí exhibition. According to Stan, the lines were long, the PMA was packed and the show itself was an ambitious attempt. Was it worth being jostled and spending $20 on an admission ticket? Was the whole of Dalí's career well-represented? Did the wall texts and labels psychoanalyze the artist who was into psychoanalysis? Did Stan snag a cheesesteak on his way out of Philly? For the answers to these (well, not that last one) and other questions, you'll have to read and find out.As always, Mr. Parchin has provided lots of background information and recommended reading in his review. I keep saying, "Thank you," but talk is cheap. So I have toiled and created a separate page for all of Stan's Special Exhibition and Catalogue Reviews by way of further thanks.
