Special Exhibition Review: Fra Carnevale

Wednesday March 16, 2005
Fra_Carnavale_Annunciation_blog.jpg Stan Parchin, Contributing Editor for Museum/Special Exhibitions, has got another great exhibition for us to read about. Showing at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art through May 1st, From Filippo Lippi to Piero della Francesca: Fra Carnevale and the Making of a Renaissance Master sounds like required viewing for any Italian Renaissance fan. Major masters, minor masters, a reunited triptych and a breathtaking, comprehensive glimpse of an age that continues to fire our imaginations. What's not to love? According to Stan, nothing. (I especially like the way he describes the atmosphere in the Met's Robert Lehman Wing.) Thank you, Stan. As always, if one can't attend in person, your review is the next best thing!
