Gary Phillips is passionate about puzzles, codes, ciphers and the like, and writes about them on his website, Realm of Twelve. It's not surprising, given his interests, that he's intrigued by Leonardo - but what is surprising is that Gary says he's seen something in the restored Last Supper mural that none of the rest of us have. Specifically, the location of the "missing" Holy Grail. You'll have to check out his highly intriguing page to see it for yourself. All I can say is that I (1) like his idea a whole lot more than the "negative space = uterus = Chalice" business, (2) can't stop staring at it and (3) appreciate that Gary got in touch to point it out. Wild.

Wishful thinking.
a) there is NO grail in pre-restored Last Supper
b) it is NOT a grail! take a look for yourself! here’s good resolutin image:

It sure looks like a grail to me. Especially when viewed from a distance, the way the painting was meant to be seen when it was commissioned.
Close inspection shows the grail image to be a dark rectangle and a light rectangle side by side, with a dark semi-circle cutting into the bottom of the lighter rectangle.
Up close they are meaningless shapes, however when you look at it from a distance the low contrast allows your eyes to blend the shapes together, creating an image of a traditional wine glass with a long stem.
If you’re having trouble seeing the alleged grail image, it rests directly on top of Bartholomew’s head (the one on the far left).
Many people don’t notice it because the first part of the image you see when scanning the image from left to right and top to bottom is the lip of the grail. The light edge used to define the lip of the grail goes unnoticed because that edge is repeated along that wall in the form of a doorway leading out of the room.
While on the topic of the doorways that appear along both walls, I would like to point out that the tops of these doorways are much taller on the left side of the painting than the right.
I believe that Da Vinci purposely did this so he could use the upper edges of the doorway to disguise the grail image along the left side.
Another point I would like to make is that it is obvious that this part of the painting is different from the rest. This is because that particular grouping of shapes is not repeated anywhere else in the painting. This takes away from the harmony of the painting, which is why many people say that once they’ve noticed the shapes they can never look at the painting in the same way again.
Obviously Leonardo Da Vinci knew that not repeating a group of shapes would take away from the harmony of the painting. This blatant disregard for one of the principles of art leads me to believe that he placed the image there on purpose.
Whether you believe that the image is a grail or just a bunch of shapes, there’s no denying that it doesn’t fit with the rest of the painting, which makes it just one of many mysteries that surround Da Vinci’s “The Last Supper.”
I think people or someone who made a research about the Holy Grail by studying from the Last Supper picture by Da Vinci, are people who waste their own preicious time by doin’ these stupid researches and theories. Coz i think that picture was painted by Da Vinci 1500 years after the real Christ’s Last Supper, so my question is, It’s reliable or not that the picture was exactly representated the condition 1500 years ago?I’m sure Da Vinci knew nothing about what happened 1500 years ago, when he was inspired to doin that painting! So when everyone became interested with the figure in Jesus’s rightside, absolutely they were fooled,That painting strongly COULD BE JUST an expression or imagination by Da Vinci!
Now,it’s up to u guys, just use your logical mind to understand my opinion, problems that “they” talk about Marie Madgalene is the “Holy Grail” or not, is one of our faith mysteries.
God Bless
