Special Exhibition Review: Alexander the Great
Monday December 13, 2004
Stan Parchin, a specialist in ancient, late-medieval and Renaissance art and history, had the pleasure of attending a not-to-be-missed Special Exhibition this past week. He has generously written us all an informed review, and highly recommends that those who are able make their respective ways to the exhibition (which will, unfortunately, not be traveling). "Alexander the Great: Treasures from an Epic Era of Hellenism" is in residence at the Onassis Cultural Center (in New York City) from now until April 16, 2005.I would like to publicly thank Stan for his thoughtfulness. In my opinion, it is a great treat to hear the observations of a professional, particularly one who has helped craft exhibitions, knows their inherent pitfalls and isn't hesitant to point out errata in catalogues. If Stan praises an exhibition, it is truly worthy of one's time! Please give his review a read, and then head to Manhattan for a visual feast.
