Bush, Kerry Arts Positions

Glad somebody found this stuff. I Googled both candidates "official" positions on the visual arts, without success, for hours one day until the sledgehammer/monitor combo started looking mighty tempting. The only positive to come from the whole experience was that I was *positive* art is not a huge priority on either list. Anyway, the "blogsphere" (yes, yet another new noun) coughed up a blog entry by George Hunka, who managed to track down the Bush and Kerry positions. He also gleaned some numbers on NEA appropriations. There is a Comment section at the end where the relative merits of having an NEA were being discussed, but, curiously, I saw no mention of how successful the No Child Left Behind Act has been in implementing national visual arts standards ...
