Last week's search statistics showed that "artist birthday" (and variations thereof) was a popular choice. It's probably safe to assume that this has much to do with lesson planning for the upcoming semester - something that should have occurred to me sooner! To make amends, I've created a handy month-by-month series of pages. Each will tell you who was born on which day, in which year, and hyperlinks the artist's name to his or her profile for information and further resources. You'll find no dates of death in here, as most kids find the topic somewhat of a downer. (Plus, I can't imagine any classroom holding a mock funeral for an artist ...) Just lots of lovely birthdays, the number of which will be continually growing. Let me know if you come up with any great celebratory activities that you'd care to share.
