Art History 101: Mesolithic Art

It would seem that, during the Mesolithic era, folks were busy putting down roots and learning how to grow crops. The art of this period is somewhat lacking in both quantity and diverse subject matter, and is a bit boring as a result - with the notable exception of one rock painting in Sicily that looks as if Matisse could have had a hand in it. Even so, it's a topic that needed to be covered and has the added benefit of being nice and neutral. Nice and neutral, yes - that's the ticket...
