Another Brilliant Scheme Backfires
Tuesday February 24, 2004
Well, my ingenious plan - to stick a literary finger into the torrent of questions flowing from the John v. Mary dike - has resulted in four solid days of answering email on such. Comments have ranged from "Thanks for the laugh" (Thank you! I love you. As a friend.) to "Are you retarded?" (Not quite, but neither I am done reading emails yet. Let's give it a few more hours and check back then, hmm?) with a wide spectrum of points for me to ponder in between.
Since I have got to get busy on at least one different (!) topic pertaining to the whole of Art History, may I suggest that the Art History Forum is an excellent place to discuss this with others? (Particularly if one is seeking thoughts about The Da Vinci Code, or has evidentiary Scriptural or Church History points to bring to the party.) Though planning to write a review of the book, for now I've said all that I feel comfortable saying on the "John" subject, at least within the framework of this site's topic. Incidentally, someone posted a question on the Forum about the Last Supper recently, and my feeble response was to point him toward the article's URL. Perhaps one of you may be able to offer him a post with substance. Thanks!
