Art History 101: The Renaissance in Venice

We couldn't wrap up the Italian Renaissance without paying special tribute to Venice, could we? The Venetian School of painting was remarkable, distinct and boasts some of the biggest names in art history (Titian, Giorgione and Tintoretto come right to mind). Besides, what a romantic city! Inner Me (the part that does not cook, do laundry or readily respond to the word "Mom") has always envisioned herself lounging in a slow-moving gondola, perhaps enjoying a Mimosa or two, while listening to a serenade and being gazed at adoringly by...whoops!...something real smells like it's ready to ignite itself in the oven...
