The Venetian School of painting was remarkable, distinct and boasts some of the biggest names in art history (Titian, Giorgione and Tintoretto come right to mind). Besides, what a romantic city! Inner Me (the part that does not cook, do laundry or readily respond to the word "Mom") has always envisioned herself lounging in a slow-moving gondola, perhaps enjoying a Mimosa or two, while listening to a serenade and being gazed at adoringly by...whoops!...something real smells like it's ready to ignite itself in the oven...
