Famous Names in Art
Friday December 26, 2003
This section is seeing numerous additions of late, though we've still got around 20,000 Names uncovered (by my estimate). It's often frustrating to distill a person's life into "X" amount of characters, when he or she deserves an entire book - if not a parade and public monuments. But we're going for quantity at present (as noted by the "20,000 Names" up there), so please bear with me. Though these are short, there are always links to other resources included.
Speaking of frustrating, it became clear that one artist, in particular, had been woefully neglected/unsung/abused over the centuries. Being one of those poor saps who always champions the underdog, I've written a profile of the world's most prolific, though unknown, artist for you. It's my small attempt to right a wrong. Or perhaps it's all due to my Beloved's eggnog, which was, if memory serves, short on egg and quite heavy on the nog.
