Better Late than Never!
Monday November 3, 2003
This was such a heartening news item, it deserves to be shared here. NPR's Steve Inskeep recently authored a piece on All Things Considered about senior artists and their new exhibit at Baltimore's American Visionary Arts Museum. Besides Mary Anna Robertson ("Grandma") Moses, the works of dozens of other artists-of-a-certain-age are on display. Why is this heartening? To me, and, possibly, others, it offers proof that there is still, if one is lucky, time - after building careers, raising children, paying off the mortgage and generally coping with Life for decades - to immerse oneself in passionate pursuit.
